Pyrite stands for reflection and self-knowledge, and Is a popular gift. The pretty cube sculptures are often given away as a lucky charm for the desk.

Also known under the names sulfur gravel, iron gravel, cat, fool's gold.

Pyrite opaque and develops crystals in the form of cubes, octahedra and disdodecahedra, as well as combinations between these forms. The crystal faces often show a characteristic striation and a lively metallic sheen.

Mohs hardness 6-6.5
